Big Paper Ad Campaign

Ever sit in a doctor’s office and wonder why we’re still subjected to filling out endless paper forms that then need to be typed into the computer? Or have you asked why we’re still printing so many things that will likely be out of date in less than three months? And how many hours have you wasted meeting in person to sign a document? All of that got us thinking—why do we still do things this way? Is there a big conspiracy to keep us hooked on paper? If so, who’s behind it all? The answer: Big Paper.

Project Details

The initial scope of this project was to provide comedic value during breaks for our annual virtual customer event, Practically Genius 2021. After brainstorming dozens of wild and exciting ideas, we landed on the idea of producing two or three video ads we could play during commercial opportunities at the event. We wanted to create a series of ads that would resonate with our event audience and have a long shelf life far after the event. Before jumping into scripting and pre-production, we knew the forced 30‑second ad spot didn’t fit the way people watch video content today. With YouTube ad sequencing in mind, we scoped three short film style (90-120 second) ads and three additional 15-second alternate versions of each. We wanted to serve up an ad sequence that tells a story to our prospects across their purchasing lifecycle. The ads were shot in two days at The Fortress in Vancouver, BC, with KIDDO films.
